WILD HORSES IN DANGER OF BEING COMPLETELY REMOVED OFF OF PUBLIC LANDS IN NEVADA AND ACROSS THE UNITED STATES

The living legends of our western heritage ,the grace and beauty of the wild horses in Nevada and all across the country are in danger of being removed from public lands at an alarming rate. There are more than 33,000 wild horses being confined in holding corrals than are out on the range. It continues to defy any logic why the roundups continue by the BLM, they are out of money to care for the ones that have been rounded up and at one point have said, they need to start euthanizing horses in order to be able to balance the budget, an appalling idea. The high and mighty cattle kings would gladly see every horse off of the land, so they can have more forage for their cattle on tax payers land, which they get for a very cheap price from the BLM , so the ranchers complain to the BLM there are too many horses on the land, my sheep and cows do not have enough left over to graze on so they can get fat for market. The BLM makes money off of the AUMS that the ranchers pay them which is a very small amount of money considering what they get in exchange, the cattle ranchers make a huge profit off using BLM land for their livestock, the losers are the wild horses. They claim every roundup is an emergency , they are starving, no water, I have seen waterholes shut off on purpose. It is very misleading to put mildly. I have seen these roundups first hand near the ranch where I live ,which borders BLM land.
There were many healthy herds of wild horses, not an over population but plenty of water and forage to sustain them. But in the dead of winter in below zero temperatures about two years ago I noticed a corral being set up for horses . The BLM said the wild horses were starving and wouldn't make it through the winter, not true. I had seen many of these horses almost on a daily basis and photographed them for few years before there roundup. I tried to explain to the BLM my point of view that these horses were in no danger of not surviving the winter, it feel upon deaf ears, they rounded up over a thousand head of the most beautiful horses you ever saw, the site of these horses in the corrals was not pretty. I was devastated. Little foals separated from their mothers, the mares chewing through the plastic fencing desperately trying to get to their babies. The stallions all together frantically trying to escape, one brave stallion still trying to be the herd leader, willing to fight to the death, kicking, biting, rearing for his survival. Some just stood in shock with fear in their eyes the smell the of sweat and feeling of shear terror in this horses was palpable. They were panicking, frantically running back and forth in the direction of their desert home. To make sure that this never happens again please support the ROAM bill before the senate now, you can make a difference and give the wild horses a winning chance. Thank you for your support , contact your representive today it is very urgent
